"Wanda Stafford has a haunting voice that is a little reminiscent of Anita O'Day's, puts plenty of heart into her interpretations of lyrics, always improvises and never forgets to swing. Long a fixture in San Francisco, she deserves to be much better known. Her recent Live At Pearl's CD is easily recommended."
Scott Yanow, long-time jazz journalist and author of Jazz On Film

Wanda Stafford has worked with such notables as Wes Montgomery, Bill Russo and Bill Evans among others. In the 60's she recorded "In Love For The Very First Time" on Roulette Records in New York. Originally from Indianapolis, she later moved to San Francisco and became a part of the then thriving North Beach jazz scene working at the Jazz Workshop, the Hungry-I and the Playboy Club. In 1997 she paired with David Baker and his eight-piece ensemble for her critically acclaimed CD "Let's Face The Music." Wanda still lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she can be heard regularly at local jazz nite-spots. She is also a vocal teacher and coach.
